“Right Living strides out before him, and clears a path for his passage.” Psalm 85:13

This week my thoughts have been on three men who were special to me. My father, who was born 100 years ago on August 7,  (passed away in 2006), and two men who passed away this week: John, who mentored me at my last church secretary position, and Dave, whom I shared many experiences with while working at the Grand Canyon Synod office. To me, all three of these men were like high jumping track stars–setting the bar high in working through their life situations and inching it higher in their faith growth and love of The Lord.

Whenever I experience the loss of someone I admire, it makes me wonder if I am living right in the eyes of God. What will friends and family members think if they could see me falling and stumbling in my life? Psalm 85 gives me hope.

God sent his son to set an example of how to live right. Then, knowing we’d never be able to hurdle life’s temptations, Jesus cleared the path to Skull Hill (Golgotha) by dragging a heavy cross.

Lord, help me walk a straight path as I journey toward eternal life. Amen.
