Down on your knees …

“Get down on your knees before the Master; it’s the only way you’ll get on your feet.” James 4:10

imageDoes your church pews have kneelers to use during worship for the confession of your sins? My church does not practice kneeling, and whenever I’ve visited churches with the kneelers built in at the base of the pew in front of me, I’ve never felt comfortable getting down on my knees during church.

However, I do like the concept that we need to get down as low as we can before God to eventually stand on our own faithful feet.

Adam and Eve had their chance at a perfect world. However, when tempted by a satanic snake to eat the forbidden fruit, their lives changed immediately and so did the need for them to bow down to God and beg to be set up on their feet and give them another chance to obey God.

Humble us, Lord, as we crawl into your arms to help us get back on our feet. Amen.
