A dead-end road…

“As long as you did what you felt like doing, ignoring God, you didn’t have to bother with right thinking or right living…. Where did it get you? A dead end.” Romans 6:20,23

imageGlen and I had a 26-foot motor home which we towed a Toyota Camry behind. On one of our trips to California we depended upon our GPS to take us on a short-cut around Los Angeles. Cruising along a nice two-lane highway, the squawker told us to turn right at the next intersection. Glen signaled and made a quick turn. A second later he realized we were on a dirt road headed for a dead end.

It took us fifteen minutes to back the car off the dolly, unhook the dolly from the RV, make a three-point turn with the car and the motor home, and then hook up everything again. All this could have been avoided by doing our homework and not soley relying on a GPS.

Such is life. When we ignore God and not bother to think about what we are doing or where we are going, we just may end up on a dead end path in life.

Lord, help me us avoid dead-end encounters on our faith journey. Amen.
