“I’m so grateful to Christ Jesus for making me adequate to do this work. He went out on a limb, you know, in trusting me with this ministry.” 1 Timothy 12
Jesus “went out on a limb” to pluck Paul into ministry, and Paul remains overwhelmed with the trust that Jesus had in him–especially after all he had done in his past to persecute Christians.
I have often wondered as I prepare for a retreat or workshop, why God trusts me to be the one to inspire others. My “expertise” doesn’t come from a background of studying religion or theology. I’ve never asked for the gift of serving God in a creative way–it just came to me through his grace.
I recently learned that I have been chosen as a speaker for a national convention for church support staff to be held in Phoenix in 2013. This opportunity is a step up the rungs on the ladder I’ve wanted to climb. However, I will need to prove that I can do this work adequately to please over 200 participants and God.
Thank you, Dear Lord, for the opportunities that you give me to stretch and grow in my ministry. Amen.
