Baby blessings…

“Nursing infants gurgle choruses about you; toddlers shout the songs that drown out enemy talk, and silence atheist babble.” Psalm 8:2

And tell me again what your arm says...

And tell me again what your arm says…

There’s not much in life I enjoy more than listening to a nursing baby taking nourishment from the mother or from a bottle or the long stories of a toddler barely able to talk. I didn’t feel this as much as a young mother. As a seasoned senior, I have had time to experience what is really important in life, and it’s not expensive celebrity concerts or a cabinet full of CDs.

Psalm 8:1 says “God, brilliant Lord, yours is a household name.” Do you see God as a household name? Or, are you too busy living life (as I was as a young mother) to notice the blessings of his creation to see the evidence right in front of your face?

Lord, slow us down and let us enjoy the little blessings you give us daily. Amen.
