Bright splendor within…

“Father, it’s time. Display the bright splendor of your Son so the Son in turn may show your bright splendor.” John 17:1

Proud of my son as a father.

My son played youth baseball for a few years and did a great job pitching and hitting. I relished in his bright splendor. One could find me sitting on a bench closest to the pitching mound encouraging him with constant chatter. After one game a lady next to me waiting to check out at the grocery store said, “You’re the mother who talked to her son the whole time he pitched.” Yep, that was me…I couldn’t help myself because I was so proud of him.

I picture God watching every detail of his son’s ministry on Earth–smiling, crying, frowning, applauding, and many  ‘at-a-boys. I believe God smiles on all of us the same way, encouraging us to be the best at whatever we do to show glory back to God.

Lord, help us see the bright splendor in all of us. Amen.
