Coming Clean — Daily Meditation Moment

“Who are these dressed in white robes, and where did they come from?” Revelations 7:13 (The Message Bible)

This morning I cringed when I flipped the page of the daily devotion book and found that the scripture for today is from Revelations, chapter 7. Sometimes I can read the verses in this book seven times and still not understand what it means. But verse 13 resonated in my soul because I’ve been trying to bleach, Shout, Oxy and Kaboom a stain out of a favorite white shirt. I’ve even tried Comet, Dawn, and an old bar of lye soap. The stain resists my efforts.

Continuing in verse 16, the Elder said, “These [those dressed in white] are those who come from the great tribulation, and they’ve washed their robes, scrubbed them clean in the blood of the Lamb.

Perhaps that ugly stain in my shirt is a reminder that I have a lot of scrubbing to do before I stand before God’s Throne.

Dear Lord, help me work on stain removal each day of my life. Amen.
