Just then, the man dressed in linen and carrying the writing case came back and reported, “I’ve done what you told me.” Ezekiel 9:11
I have a problem with excessive noise, and I am siting in a coffee house and writing my blog for tomorrow. I find the chatter of people, the clanking of cups, hisses of the latte machine kind of like white noise more. It feels good to be among people while writing, and people watching is inspiring.
My favorite place to write has always been my screened-in patio. Soon, it will be too chilly to sit out there in the morning, and I’ll be in front of a window in my office. When I first began to write, I wrote everywhere and on anything I could find–the back of receipts, church bulletins, and eventually carried a little journal in my purse.
As I’ve become more accustomed to writing, I no longer feel the urgency to write thoughts as they come to me. I believe my words and thoughts come from the Holy Spirit, and if I’m meant to write about something, it will return to me when I’m ready. I thank God for the ability to write these daily meditation moments which help to ground me in my faith.
God makes it possible for our talents to surface at the right time to please him. I’m grateful for the coffee shop tonight.
Lord, help us lighten up and enjoy our time with you in creative ventures. Amen.
