Free to Choose — Daily Meditation Moment

1 Corinthians 9:19

“Even though I am free of the demands and expectations of everyone, I have voluntarily become a servant to any and all in order to reach a wide range of people.” 1 Corinthians 9:19 (The Message Bible)

These are Apostle Paul’s words after his 180-degree turn around from persecuting Christians to becoming a volunteer to promote the new ministry of Jesus.

I’m looking at retirement in a couple of months and will face the opportunity for new choices. The demands and expectations of my part-time job as a church secretary, will no longer keep me from pursuing the ministry of writing blogs and books and presenting retreats and workshops. Unlike Paul’s ministry after his first career, I will not be working directly with anyone or any organization who do not want me in their midst. I will wait for an invitation to do a workshop or retreat, and no one will be forced to buy or read one of my books.

It is my hope that through my ministry, others will break free of the demands and expectations that keep them from growing in their faith.

Dear God, help me use the gifts you’ve given me to reach as many people as possible in your name. Amen.
