“But you are the ones chosen by God, chosen for the high calling to priestly work… to tell others of the night-and-day difference he made for you–from nothing to something, from rejected to accepted.” 1 Peter 9-10
How do you know if God chose you? I’ve heard stories from pastors of how they felt called into ministry. One even had the mountain-top experience, such as Moses had. Many felt that the call slipped into their soul through participating in worship and in ministry projects.
Was I chosen? I believe so. I spend time writing books, preparing for conferences, retreats, and speaking engagements–so much time that if I put an hourly wage on the honorariums I receive, it would be less than minimum wage. But, that’s okay–I have never felt as if ministry has a price tag attached to it.
It only takes one person to thank me for my message to make me believe God called me–took me from a no one to a someone who is accepted for what I can do in his name.
Lord, help me see what ministry you have in store for me. Amen.
