Gifted? — Daily Meditation Moment

February 16

“What can I do for you before I’m taken from you? Ask anything.” Elisha said, “Your life repeated in my life.” 2 King 2:9

Do you know anyone you’d like to be like—anyone you’d trade your life for their life? In 2 Kings the prophet Elijah knew he would soon be taken to heaven. His student, Elisha, followed him everywhere he went until the moment chariots and horses of fire took Elijah to heaven in a whirlwind.

Elisha received his request of Elijah’s power and the responsibility to use this gift to glorify God.
If I could trade lives with anyone in the history of the world, I’d choose Mother Theresa. I’d follow her around and learn how to be a grace-filled woman. But trying to be like Mother Theresa would challenge me beyond my imagination, and that’s why God didn’t gift me with such a life.

Dear Lord, give me traits of Mother Theresa that I might use them to your glory. Amen.
