God Picked You — Humpday Meditation Muse

“Look around you: Everything you see is God’s–the heavens above and beyond, the Earth, and everything on it. But it was your ancestors who God fell in love with; he picked their children–that’s you!–out of all the other peoples.” Deuteronomy 10:14-15 (The Message Bible)

With permission, I am sharing this wonderful poem as my Humpday meditation. Remember, as you work for the Lord, you are a Child of God in the most special way.

I am a Child of God  by Pastor Larry Morris

I am a child of God
I am loved unconditionally, totally, wholly, wonderfully
I am a child of God
I belong in the family. I belong to God
I am a child of God
I can be strong without putting someone down
I can be weak and be cared for
I am a child of God
I can admit I have hurt others and apologize
I can hear the confession of others and be forgiving
I am a child of God
I can be competent and let others succeed
I can be compassionate, to my neighbors and myself
I am a child of God
I can be wise and a good listener
I can be at peace, in a troubled world
I am a child of God

Who are you today as you serve the Lord in the church office during the busy season of Lent?

Dear Lord, let the child of God in me shine today so that others may see your Glory! Amen.
