“God says, ‘Prepare your affairs and your family. This is it: You’re going to die. You’re not going to get well.’” Isaiah 38:1
These are words no one wants to hear—especially on Valentine’s Day. But in reality, we all are going to die. Our earthly life cycle will end—some too soon and some have to wait too long.
In this chapter of Isaiah, Hezekiah got this message and then prayed and begged God to give him more time. “Hezekiah wept as he prayed – painful tears.” God heard his prayers and added fifteen years on to his life.
We may, or may not, with a lot of prayer and pleading, be gifted with more years after receiving the “death message” However, the advice in this message is that every day we should be getting our affairs ( financial and spiritual) and live as if we are saying “Goodbye” to our earthly life.
Getting our affairs in order and spending each day mending relationships and loving our family and friends is a yearlong Valentine gift to you and to those you love.
Dear Lord, let me seek your guidance as I prepare for my eternal life cycle in heaven. Amen.
