Happy Humpday! What’s Normal in Your Life?

I have two Normal nephews. Actually, the only thing normal about them is the fact that they live in Normal, Illinois. I’m sure they have a lot of fun with that city name, and we enjoy telling people that at least we have two Normal family members. However,¬†as a writer in a meditation wrote, “The only thing normal in my house is the “Normal” setting on the clothes dryer.

So, what’s normal in the church office? The tasks of a church secretary are often repetitive and routine, and yet there is no such thing as a normal day or week. I like to joke about how everything seemed to be normal during the week until someone had the audacity to die and suddenly there was a funeral to prepare for. Fortunately, church secretaries are called to minister through grace and are given a big dose of flexibility to get everything done for the congregation to have a good worship experience each Sunday.

May you find a little normalcy in your office every day.
