Have you met an angel?

“You’ve lost your mind!” they responded. She stuck by her story with such determination that they began to say, “It must be his guardian angel.” Acts 12:15

imageGuardian angels. I believe they are everywhere, but not easily recognized. I love hearing stories like this one from my brother Dean:

We arrived at the airport after midnight and dragged ourselves to the parking garage after an overseas flight. My wife, Judy, helped get our bags into the trunk, and within minutes we were ready to head out for the 2-hour drive to our home. When I turned the key in the ignition, I got the sound of battery death. Nothing. “Now what do I do?” I thought. The parking lot was as dead as our car battery. I struck out to find a phone to call roadside service, but there was none around. On my way back to the car, a man appeared and said, “Do you need help?” I said, “Yes, we could use a jump to the battery. I have the cable.”

He had pulled up his car, and within a few minutes the engine purred to life. Judy said to the man, “You are an angel.” He replied, I must be. My name is Gabriel.”

Was he an angel? Yes–someone at the right place at the right time.

Lord, help us be angel on earth to someone in need. Amen.
