Learn How to do Your Work — Daily Meditation Moment

“As you learn more and more how God works, you will learn how to do your work.” Colossians 1:10 (The Message Bible)

Rarely does a day go by that I don’t wonder if my writing and speaking affects someone. At a recent event, I talked with the participants about how our souls are revived when we are passionate about something we do, like reading, knitting, writing, etc. One of the participants admitted that she no longer did any of the things that she once loved, because her busy schedule had eaten into her personal time. I challenged her to find fifteen minutes each day to do something she used to enjoy.

The next day I received this note: “That 15 minutes was at the forefront of my mind this morning. You might be interested to know that I began the day with quiet meditation, followed by a time of listing all the things I used to be passionate about. As I said yesterday, the list is long. There are LOTS of things I “love” to do. And so, each day when I come to my 15 minutes, I can pull out my list and choose something fun to do.”

These words gave me peace about my call to serve God through Souly-4-You.

Dear God, help us learn more about you and then identify what you want us to do to serve you. Amen.
