Life goes on …

“God has no use for the prayers of the people who won’t listen to him.” Proverbs 28:9

valueDonald Trump is our President Elect. You could have knocked me over with a feather when I heard the news this morning on NPR. The people spoke through their vote—they want change, and change they will get with a non-political TV celebrity and real estate billionaire. Once again, our political system proves that anyone can become the president of this great country.

Being elected president of the U.S. is probably the easiest thing Mr. Trump has had to do thus far in his new political career. He will spend months getting acquainted with his new job, and when the honeymoon is over, he will be expected to make good on all his campaign promises. Walk the talk. He will need to show America that he is a man of integrity or no one will accept him as a leader. He is going to need more prayer than any president I’ve known.

I end each day in prayer for the president of the U.S. and his family. Often, I ask God to shower an extra dose of wisdom on the person in the oval office, as their job is an awesome responsibility.

So, America, get down on your knees, or sit or stand or whatever works for you and pray that God is not finished with Mr. Trump, as he is not finished with any one of us.

Lord, help us through the transition of a new president. Amen.
