“I’m happy from the inside out, and from the outside in, I’m firmly formed. You canceled my ticket to hell–that’s not my destination!” Psalm 16:9-10
Sometimes life sucks hope out of our souls. It could be from a bad relationship, money lost, a project that goes south, or a period of apathy toward life. It doesn’t make a difference how big a deal it is, because if you lose hope you will not feel the gifts of joy, happiness, and peace.
This morning I had a reminder of my decision to pick the word “HOPE” as a mantra for the year. A four-letter word that pacts more power than the F___ four-letter word catapulted at us in movies, conversation overheard, and sometimes by a loved one who has lost control.
The beautiful word HOPE pictured above appeared in a FB post from my son Mike, who has found new hope in life through a new career opportunity, renewed convictions, attitude adjustment, great people around him, and knowing that God is present in every moment of his life. HOPE has been renewed in my heart today. I pray you will carry the little four-letter word in your heart, too.
Lord, give me hope when I need it the most, and may I pass on the good four-letter word to others. Amen.
