“War broke out in Heaven. Michael and his Angels fought the Dragon (Satan). The Dragon and his Angels fought back, but were no match for Michael.” Revelations 12:7
I recently saw the movie “The Water Diviner,” directed by Russell Crowe. The story is about an Australian farmer who lost three sons in World War I in the battle of Gallipoli, Turkey. Joshua Connor, played by Crowe, promised his wife he would find the bodies of his sons and bring them home for burial. Flash backs of the horrific battle between the Turks and Greeks made me turn my eyes away from the screen and reminded me why I hate war.
War has always been insidious and a tragedy to all sides, except for as written in Revelations. The symbolic war between the good angels and fallen angels affirm that Satan is not welcome in Heaven.
I often wonder about war and why intelligent people can’t learn to accept the differences in people of other nations, religions, and races. Do we even know what both (or all) sides of the conflict want? Or are they fallen angels trying to work their way back to Heaven?
Dear God, send angels to continue to wage war on evil. Amen.
