Powered Up and On the Road — Daily Meditation Moment

May 17

“I am sending what my Father promised to you, so stay here in the city until he arrives, until you’re equipped with power from on high.” Luke 24:49 (The Message Bible)

We spent the last couple of days equipping our motor home for our trip to the Midwest. I feel confident that we have everything we need for the next four months, but it is likely that within the next couple of days I will be searching for something I can’t live without. That’s one of the benefits of dry camping in a Walmart parking lot, and with the generator on the RV, we have all the comforts of home—microwave, TV, etc.

In Luke 24, Jesus had one more earthly message for his disciples before ascending to heaven—“Stay…until you are equipped with power from on high.” This power, known as the Holy Spirit, connects us to God—a  mighty power cord that needs no outlet.

As we travel, I will continue to write my blogs, and through the incredible invention of the wireless internet (a minor power from on high), I will be able to post them daily.

Dear Lord, the Holy Spirit drives me to write and serve you. Amen
