Sidetracked or On Track?

[Jesus said] “Come along with me.”And he did. Luke 5:27

i_will_follow_you-ricky_nelsonI used to play my guitar and sing these words recorded Ricky Nelson:

I will follow you, follow you wherever you may go
There isn’t an ocean too deep
A mountain so high it can keep
Keep me away, away from my love.

Of course, neither Ricky nor I were singing to Jesus!

If Jesus came to visit me today, he’d find me at my computer and possibly say, “Come with me.” I’d more than likely ask, “May I finish this blog before I leave? Can I bring my iPad?”

Most mornings, I start my day reading and writing meditations. If I become sidetracked from this routine, I feel lost and out of focus until I take time to follow Jesus back into my writing cave.

If Jesus were to visit you today and say, “Come along with me?”, where would you be going? To a food pantry? To teach Sunday School? To go somewhere to just rest?

Lord, you know I love you and I will try better to follow you. Amen.
