Sinned Again — Daily Meditation Moment

December 27

“If we claim that we experience a shared life with him and continue to stumble around in the dark, we’re obviously lying through our teeth—we’re not living what we claim.” 1 John 6-7 (The Message Bible)

Apparently, one lesson about sin and forgiveness was not enough, because today we get hammered again with the fact that we say we are walking in the light of God, but we continue to stumble around in the dark parts of our lives.

I love the saying, “God I haven’t sinned today…but I’m getting out of bed soon.” One of my sinful ways starts with the fact that I like to talk too much. I get carried away in conversation, and before I realize it, I’ve been gossiping, complaining, or trying to explain my way out of what I just said. My morning prayers should begin, “Dear Lord, help me connect my mind, heart, and soul to my lips and tongue.”

Dear Lord, I know I am powerless to sin and need your help to learn from my mistakes. Amen.
