Snopes.com for me!

“My dear friends, don’t believe everything you hear. Carefully weigh and examine what people tell you.” 1 John 4:1

imageI’ve written many times about how you can’t believe what you read or hear. That’s a shame. We have developed into a nation and world of distrust, which leads to fear, and from fear we move into a stress-filled existence.

So, how do we get out of this huge rut? We need to start by opening our minds to the fact that people are human beings with agendas of their own and whose perception is 100% accurate for them–but not for everyone.

In 1 John, we are told it is our responsibility to examine what people tell us. For this to happen, we need a form of Snopes.com programed into our minds.

Lord, help us become people with discerning skills. Amen.
