The Lion King — Daily Meditation Moment

“But he said to Daniel, ‘Your God, to whom you are so loyal, is going to get you out of this.” Daniel 6: 16 (The Message Bible)

There is a new 3-D release of the animated movie, “The Lion King.” Perhaps Disney could make a movie about Daniel—the lion king of the Old Testament. Daniel is the good guy and leading character. Vice regents and governors are the bad guys who are jealous of Daniel’s spirit and the way he makes them look incompetent. The bad guy plot against Daniel by convincing King Belshazzar to sign a decree saying no one could pray to any god or mortal, except to the King. Daniel wouldn’t comply, was discovered praying to God three times a day from an open window in his home, and as punishment was tossed into the lion’s den. The closing scene is a shot of a lion with its mouth being held shut by angels sent from God, and the bad guys (along with their wives and children) being sent down into the lion’s den.

This movie would be rated PG-13 for violence. It would run for only a short time before hitting the DVD market, because it’s too unbelievable.

Dear God, thank you for the stories in the Bible that give me courage to face the lions in my life. Amen.
