What a wonderful world …

“The Fear-of-God builds up confidence, and makes a world safe for your children.” Proverbs 14:26

This morning I listened to What a Wonderful World–a song of hope performed by Meryl Streep, Bette Midler, Olivia Newton John, Goldie Hawn, Cher. It gave my heart a jump start after days of wondering, “What the heck is wrong with people in this world who want to keep it in constant turmoil?”

Throughout the history of the Bible, God destroyed cities, people, and countries for disobeying him—mostly for worshiping false idols. What will it take today to reverse the hatred and criminal actions of people? And, how  will we save the planet?

This is the world I want for my grandchildren and all the generations to come:

What a Wonderful World
Songwriters: Thiele, Robert; Weiss, George David (1988)

I see trees of green, red roses too
I see them bloom, for me and you
And I think to myself
What a wonderful world

I see skies of blue, and clouds of white
The bright blessed day, the dark sacred night
And I think to myself
What a wonderful world

The colors of the rainbow, so pretty in the sky
Are also on the faces, of people going by
I see friends shaking hands, sayin’, “How do you do?”
They’re really sayin’, “I love you”

I hear babies cry, I watch them grow
They’ll learn much more, than I’ll ever know
And I think to myself
What a wonderful world

Lord, help everyone reading this message make a difference to keep our world wonderful. Amen.
