“They’ll know me firsthand, the dull and the bright, the smart and the slow.” Jeremiah 31:34 (The Message Bible)
More from Jeremiah: Once again, God spoke to the people of Israel and told them he was giving them a new covenant—the old one had been broken beyond repair. God said, “I will put my law within them—write it on their hearts!” (vs. 33) They were told they didn’t even need to go to school to know God.
I never thought of myself as a bright and smart student, and yet I graduated from high school honored to be within the top twenty-five percent of my class. My formal education ended when I received my diploma, however, throughout my life, my mind has remained open to learning, and my heart has always welcomed opportunity for spiritual growth.
I believe God continues to write laws on my heart, which gives me a strong sense of what is right and wrong, a passion for people, animals, and nature, and a desire to help those in need. I sense God writes messages on my heart, also, to share with others. Often when I re-read something I wrote, I say to myself, “Who wrote this?”
Check out what God has written on your heart today!
Dear Lord, my heart is an open journal, always waiting to see what you will write upon it. Amen.
