With one voice …

“When the righteous see God in action they’ll laugh, they’ll sing.” Psalm 68:3

imageThese days, I must say that if anyone heard me sing, they would certainly laugh…or cringe. I used to sing at a few weddings, funerals, and in a small neighborhood choir and church choirs. Somewhere in my 50’s (about the same time my eyesight started to give out), when I opened my mouth to sing, I’d croak and miss about every third note.

Fortunately for many of us, God doesn’t care about our voices. Not everyone can be “The Voice” or an “American Idol.” We can sing the words in our hearts, minds, and souls as loudly or softly as we like, and God will hear every note of praise.

I’m thinking about joining the church choir next fall. It’s my hope the alto section will be singing with one voice–and no one will miss a note now and then.

Lord, please accept my humble offerings of praise through the notes I sing. Amen.
