Your treasure chest …

“God’s kingdom is like a treasure hidden in a field for years and then accidentally found by a trespasser. The finder is ecstatic—what a find!—and proceeds to sell everything he owns to raise money and buy that field.” Matthew 13:44

shirtsOne day while cleaning my office, I removed the paper lining in the built-in drawers. Hidden below the lining, I found a large white envelope with several art prints.

I went online and discovered one picture of an owl actually had some value—approximately two-to-three hundred dollars. I scratched my head wondered who left the treasures behind. I had no idea who lived in the home before us and no way of finding the owner.

What a find! No, I didn’t sell it and take the dream cruise I’ve always wanted, but at least I can say I had a lucky find right in my own home.

Dear Lord, I only need to look within my own home to find spiritual treasurers worth more than silver or gold. Amen.
